І ще з того подкасту про взаємини з руснявими.
Syrians have always been the clients of the russian state. As a result the syrians buy weapons from russia, and also russia have a navy base in the town of Tartus. This base was also important because it was a listening outpost so they had all their surveillance apparatus base there. So when Syrian war broke out and it looked like the government might fall they were determined that wouldn't happen because that was bad news for the russians.
